2013年5月9日，军需科技学院刘静波教授所主持的“吉林大学研究生海外优质课程引进计划”第二期项目《功能食品研究与应用》正式启动。课程主讲教师是来自国际蛋品委员会科学顾问、加拿大Burnbrae农场有限公司副总裁Dr.Vincent Guyonnet；授课对象为我院食品科学和食品工程2个专业的2012级硕士研究生；40学时全英文授课。

Dr.Vincent Guyonnet以禽蛋为切入点，开展了三个教学模块。第一个教学模块是有关禽蛋行业的全球发展概况、禽蛋与人类营养健康的关系、禽蛋制品的商业化以及以禽蛋为原料的功能食品的研究进展；第二个教学模块是侧重于功能食品，分别专题讲授乳、蛋、益生菌类动物源功能食品的情况；第三个教学模块则是讲授功能食品的研究热点和面临的挑战。

目前，“吉林大学研究生海外优质课程引进计划”第二期项目《功能食品研究与应用》课程已成功运行过半，师生互动环节多、教学进展顺利。我院食品科学与工程专业系主任林松毅教授全程参与本课程运行。
